Piero Sbarluzzi is one of Italy’s most exceptional sculptors. Heir to the great Tuscan Renaissance ceramists, of that generation at the start of the fifteenth century, who alternated terracotta, marble and bronze, “he learned his trade in the workshop, where he developed a strong and accomplished manual ability, like Leonardo, Michelangelo, Raphael,” said Vittorio Sgarbi. He was an artist who perfectly mastered the technical resources and composition, but was also mindful to personally perform every stage of his workmanship. Piero Sbarluzzi has produced great works in Italy and abroad. His assured plasticity and the harmonious elements of his compositional choices seem to reflect the magical equilibria of Nature itself.
